Christmas - Beyond the Usual

Most of us celebrate Christmas every year whenever the 25th of December passes by. Most put an effort in thinking what gifts to buy for their loved ones. But is that the real essence of celebrating Christmas?

Every December, we spend an extravagant amount of preparation in decorating our homes with sparkling lights, blinking on different tempo, colors, and design. We buy Christmas balls, garlands, Christmas Tree and place it in an area where it can be easily seen by others. But is this the meaning of Christmas?

Oh, and how can I forget that most of us are giving it an all out effort to buy things for food - lots of food. From simple to complicated, we prepare food and drinks to satisfy our hunger in this once a year celebration. Aren't we suppose to celebrate it as simple as possible?

Some even acknowledge Santa Claus more than Jesus Christ who was born in a simple manger. But do they even know we are celebrating the birth of Christ, and not some chimney-passing legend?

We must always remember that Christmas, celebrated every year on the 25th of December is a celebration of the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We should celebrate it from our heart and not from the imeldific facade that the world got used to.

A simple meal, a simple decoration, a simple gift, a simple celebration from the heart - a celebration spent with the ones closest to our heart. Let us celebrate it beyond the usual. Jesus Christ's birth...

Have a meaningful Merry Christmas.
